Transgenderand intersex people are discriminated in our society in all walks of life. In public places like bus stations, railways stations, theatres, temples, schools, colleges, universities, corporate offices, malls, beaches and even in public toilets, transgenders are offended or abused.

India being a highly populated country with different religions, cultures, castes and languages, transgenders are an invisible minority. The fear, suspicion and the uncommonness about our identities is a serious issue which needs to be addressed.

Sahodari advocates for transgender rights among the public through media, public performances like street plays, awareness programmes like seminars, workshops, lectures among students of colleges and universities.

We continuously work among the public for equality and dignity for transgender and intersex people.
