Thirunangai pengal or transsexual women are an oppressed invisible community in our society. Only recently, their rights have been recognised in Tamilnadu and we are slowly accepted as a part of the mainstream society.

Having driven away from our biological families, we create artificial families of only transsexual women. Having a family, a husband and children are distant dreams which never happen to us and our dreams perish in time.

Men fall in love with transsexual women and have romantic relationships with them. However, owing to the social status of transsexuals, they do not recognise these relationships as genuine and only use it as a source for sex, money and exploitation.
Hundreds of transsexual women have been betrayed and exploited by men this way in our society. These are realities and tales of exploitations.

Thirunangai.net is a genuine attempt to find true love and lasting marital relationships for transsexual women. Initially we have profiles of six transsexual women and in the future, we will add more.

This website is world’s first transsexual women’s matrimonial website and was designed by transgender rights activist Kalki, who also is the founder/director of Sahodari, a transgender rights project. Kalki herself is a transsexual woman.

Thirunangai.net is an effort from Sahodari Foundation in this direction. This project is a genuine attempt in two ways. Firstly, to find the right men as life partners for these women and secondly, to start a dialogue and create an awareness on marital and adoption rights for transsexual women.
