Her contribution to the verdict and recognition of transgender identity by the Supreme court of India in 2014 is immense and noteworthy.
Walls of Kindness is a visionary project from Sahodari Foundation. We, transgender artists team visit the very remote rural and tribal villages, find out the anganwadi schools which need help to make their walls beautiful, renovate the walls of these schools and angawadis with our artworks, paintings and murals. We do not receive any money for the service we do.
The vision and objective of this project are three:
1. Breaking stereotypes about Transgender people and establish that we are positive contributors to this society. We establish that transgender people can be changemakers.
2. Interacting, involving and working along with young students help to break transphobia, understand and accept Transgender people.
3. Creating high value and uphold self esteem and self worth of Transgender people by creating positive and creative spaces from ugly to beautiful which brings a higher level of satisfaction and achievement for the transgender paticipants who work in this project.
4, Changing the dull and lifeless walls of the anganvadis and primary schools into new, bright, colourful walls as just like what the children want and will feel happy to come back to school.
